Believing in yourself is a key element to creating the results that you want for yourself in your life…

Let’s talk a little bit about belief. One way of looking at life is that life is a series of results  – your bank balance is a result, the state of your relationships is a result, and you reading this article today is a result! So what gives us our results? Our actions – you take an action and you get a result!

So what gives us our actions, what makes us take the actions we do? Our thoughts. We all have this little voice that chatters non-stop throughout the day. It is consistently chattering with thoughts. These thoughts almost pop into our head likes popcorn. So what gives us our thoughts?

Our Beliefs.

Our beliefs are formed through something we saw, heard and experienced in our past – from teachers, parents, media, society…or repetitive thoughts … when this voice says something for long enough it becomes a belief. As a Fairy Godmother I am interested in the types of beliefs that pull you powerfully into your future and into living the life of your dreams.

So here’s an exercise – write down all the beliefs that you would need to have too achieve the result or dream that you want. Lets imagine you want a new job as a manager – some positive beliefs could be – (it doesn’t have to be true for you – just write down the beliefs). I work well with people, I enjoy managing and empowering others, I earn what I’m worth, I add great value to the company, and I love the work I do. These may not be your beliefs now, but the quickest way to cement them as beliefs and to achieve the results you want is to affirm them to yourself in both your thinking and your speaking.

So – write down those positive beliefs on a piece of paper, keep them in your car and on your way to work every morning, say each out loud 3 x …and whenever you hear your little voice being negative or you hear yourself speaking negative beliefs, – stop it and replace them with your new positive beliefs.

I have just had the most wonderful trip to Cape Town making Magic and sprinkling Fairy Dust and helping lots of people get clear on their dreams and goals and how to turn them into reality.

I had a very successful Possibility Evening where we examined The Mind and Beliefs and how our beliefs help or hinder us in achieving our dreams and goals.  I had a sold-out Dream Mapping and Goal Setting workshop where 24 people got inspired, clear, focused and into ACTION on their dreams and goals.

I also met Adin van Ryneveld who is a very DARING dreamer… he has embarked on a project called (adin)5 where for the next 5 years he is going to do what I call an ‘abundance experiment’ to test the abundance of the Universe.  He is going to donate 80% of what he earns to charity and the other 20% goes to servicing his credit card debt and to live he is going to rely on the kindness of friends, family and strangers.   I heard about his project and as a Fairy Godmother I am a BIG supporter of ANY dream – no matter how wild and crazy (in fact the wilder and crazier the better).  I knew that to help him on his journey he would need the tools, techniques and tips on how to manifest and create what he wants and who better to get that from than the Fairy Godmother!    So I donated him a place at my Possibility Evening and on my Dream Mapping and Goal Setting workshop (because he can’t pay for it, because the money that he earns goes to charity).

So people that I meet in my work as a Fairy Godmother come up with the excuse that they can’t live their dreams because they won’t be able to afford to  ‘pay the bills’ or get by.  I love that Adin is destroying that myth with his project, by giving away ALL his earnings and still being able to live – how EXTRAORDINARY!

I recently received an email from one of the Daring Dreamers who has done one of the Dream Mapping and Goal Setting Workshops.  She has a very intersting question, which may unlock something for you in your own life….

Donna, there’s something I’d like to ask you about that we didn’t discuss about manifesting your dreams and goals. Sometimes the way we feel about ourselves prevents us from achieving our dreams. For example, we may want to be rich and famous (sorry, very obvious example!), but inside don’t feel as though we deserve that fame or wealth, or both, and so keep sabotaging that dream, no matter how many affirmations or visualisations we do. What would be the way around this? How would you suggest someone deals with this?
And how do you find out what your core belief about your dream may be?
