Masai Time

Posted on February 10, 2010

Recently at a Possibility Evening a participant shared this story, which I LOVE!

She was in Kenya and was fascinated by the behaviour of the Masai warriors – those tall, thin, regal tribes people.

Masai waiting for his soul to catch up with him

One of the things that she noticed is that after running or walking for a distance, they come to a place of rest and simply stand in still centeredness in their natural environment for a period of time – seemingly doing nothing.  After observing this behaviour many times she managed to converse with one of the Masai and asked him why they do this.  The answer…

“at times we need to stand still to allow our souls to catch-up with us.”

What a beautiful and magnificent lesson for us all in this frenetic, crazy, busy world that we find ourselves in.

In my book, “The Fairy Godmother’s Guide to Getting What you Want”, I write about the importance of aligning body, mind and soul to form a solid foundation to be able to create and manifest what you want.  The soul connection is a vital component to living a fulfilled life.

Like the Masai, at times you too need to stand in stillness, centeredness and doing nothing – because it is during those times that you will feel your soul catching up and returning to you.

So during this week carve out some “Masai” time for yourself and watch as the beauty and fullness of life returns.

That’s so powerful, maybe if we stand still our souls wont be so stressed out.

Amazing. I also believe that we can only be at peace and authentic when our mind, body and soul are aligned. For me, the practical way of doing this is by living in the now, ie by focusing only on what needs to be focused on (not always easy!).

Could you please explain what you mean by my “comment is awaiting moderation”?

Hi Laura

On this website all comments go to a place where I need to view and review them before they go up on the website. This is due to the incredible amount of SPAM that happens on comments on blogs. So to ensure that no ads for viagra show up here, I monitor all the comments and then approve them. Yesterday I was doing talks and creating magic in Pretoria an so didn’t log onto the website and hence your comment was still in the queue, waiting for my approval… you will see now that your coment is up.
