5 Essential Tips for Living your Dreams
1. Discover what your authentic dreams and goals are
Find out what inspires you, ignites you and what you really want. Many people don’t know what they want and so they struggle to even begin living their dreams because of this. This is one of the reasons that I run my Dream Mapping and Goal Setting workshops to help people get clear and focused on their dreams and goals and then give them tools for turning those goals into reality.
I was lucky to take a sabbatical and travel in South America and during that time of travel and reflection a very clear vision came to me – it was the vision of being a Fairy Godmother and igniting people’s potential and helping people create extraordinary lives through their dreams and goals. And Voila here I am 3 years later Fairy Godmothering thousands of people and now with a book coming out.
2. Take ACTION
The first step is always the hardest. It is only upon taking that leap of faith that the net appears and the momentum of living your dreams begins. Most times people hope for the net to appear before they leap and that is what stops them from ever following a Wild and delicious dream. After I had my vision of being a Fairy Godmother while in South America, I took a big ACTION. I emailed everyone in my life and told them that I was clear on my vision and purpose and asked for their support. Some people thought I was crazy, some people eagerly agreed to support me. Then when I arrived back in South Africa I began to take small steps towards being a Fairy Godmother – even though at the time I had no idea how it would work, how I would make money, or what I would be doing day to day.
3. Overcome your fears
The fear never goes away. Living an extraordinary life is about conquering the new fears as they come up. I had fears about what other people would think of me being a ‘Fairy Godmother’, I have had fears about not making enough money to support myself. Fears that I am not good enough. (Read The 7 Deadly Fears to learn more about overcoming your fears)
4. Each Challenge is a Blessing
I have had numerous challenges on this 3 year journey of being a Fairy Godmother – but each challenge and obstacle brings with it learning and growth. When you can change your perception of obstacles and challenges and ask ‘what is the blessing here?’ then your life becomes miraculous.
5. Build a support base
In my workshops I teach people how to build their ‘supporting cast’ – people who will support them on this journey of living their dreams and support their successes. Through my work I have realised that we live in a society of mediocrity where big dreams and goals are not initially supported. I am fortunate that in the last 3 years I have built an incredible support base of people who support me in the times when I am feeling down and negative. Those people who I am able to be vulnerable with and to share my fears and challenges. The times when I have wanted to give up, I have phoned supporting cast members and they have encouraged me and given me the faith to continue on my path. Having a few key people around who support your BIG dreams is so important during the times when you are experiencing self doubt.

Magic Making, Dream Building and Succcess in Cape Town
I have just had the most wonderful trip to Cape Town making Magic and sprinkling Fairy Dust and helping lots of people get clear on their dreams and goals and how to turn them into reality.
I had a very successful Possibility Evening where we examined The Mind and Beliefs and how our beliefs help or hinder us in achieving our dreams and goals. I had a sold-out Dream Mapping and Goal Setting workshop where 24 people got inspired, clear, focused and into ACTION on their dreams and goals.
I also met Adin van Ryneveld who is a very DARING dreamer… he has embarked on a project called (adin)5 where for the next 5 years he is going to do what I call an ‘abundance experiment’ to test the abundance of the Universe. He is going to donate 80% of what he earns to charity and the other 20% goes to servicing his credit card debt and to live he is going to rely on the kindness of friends, family and strangers. I heard about his project and as a Fairy Godmother I am a BIG supporter of ANY dream – no matter how wild and crazy (in fact the wilder and crazier the better). I knew that to help him on his journey he would need the tools, techniques and tips on how to manifest and create what he wants and who better to get that from than the Fairy Godmother! So I donated him a place at my Possibility Evening and on my Dream Mapping and Goal Setting workshop (because he can’t pay for it, because the money that he earns goes to charity).
He was so excited about this, that he made a little video – take a look
So people that I meet in my work as a Fairy Godmother come up with the excuse that they can’t live their dreams because they won’t be able to afford to ‘pay the bills’ or get by. I love that Adin is destroying that myth with his project, by giving away ALL his earnings and still being able to live – how EXTRAORDINARY!
