What is your contribution?
Posted on August 4, 2008
After getting back to South Africa a few weeks ago, I came down with a case of the post-holiday blues but very quickly the universe sent the most amazing inspirations into my life some of which I have been delighted to share with you through my most recent blog posts and I will be sharing some more on this blog in the week.
Carmen, who works with me, also spent some time in London recently and last week we discussed that while some people in South Africa have the “jitters” – guess what, it is a worldwide phenomenon. I felt it in the States and Carmen felt it in the UK.
Being back I this country, I am so excited by the wonderful and positive work being done by so many “active citizens”. People who, instead of just grumbling and complaining about the situation, are instead making a contribution to a powerful and positive future. If you want some inspiration from some of our ordinary heroes who are making a difference look at
Justin Foxton from Stop Crime Say Hello;
Derryn Campbell from Awesome SA;
Michelle Korevaar from Spice4Life;
Ian McDonald from SA the Good News;
Martine Schaffer from Home Coming Revolution;
Sarah-Jane Boden from Represent;
Guy Lundy with his Reasons to Believe;
Max and Peter from Heart of Healing;
Nic Haralambous from SA Rocks!;
the organizers of Leader’s Day;
Alan Knott-Craig with his book Don’t Panic
And all the other thousands of South Africans who are contributing to the positive future of this beautiful country that is pulsing with possibility and potential.
What is your contribution to the future of your country?
(I would love to have your comments about your contribution or how people can contribute. Or stories or acknowledgement of other South Africans who are making a differnce to the future of this country through their actions… post a comment below)

Thanks for reminding me what wonderful people make up our country.
Can I quote some of this in my newsletter?

P.S. Serendipity!
Just received this email from Paula Bongers re: another inspiring SA project – which I thought I should put here so that you can check this one out too!
Hi Donna
Someone forwarded me your newsletter and I wanted to share with you an exciting project called Invincible South Africa – have a look at their website at http://www.invinciblesouthafrica.org
Their aim is to reduce crime by 30% by 2010. If you want to know more about it, let me know, I am involved in helping promote it here in Cape Town. (And last year attended the meditation assembly of 2000 people meditating together in Fairfield, USA. It was an awesome experience.)
Kind regards
Paula Bongers
